Short story: learning to jog again has saved my mental health during the winter. Last July I couldn't walk for more than 500 yards without having to stop. Now, I can run/brisk walk for 2.2miles. I want to do more. #Progressnotperfection Long story: 2020 was a heck of a year. I was diagnosed with breast cancer, lost my boob, my hair and my sense of humour. Endless hours on Instagram during chemotherapy watching women like me (and younger) sharing how they jog for their mental health gave me hope that I could do that too once my cancer treatment was finished. So here I am. Jogging. It helps me. Now I want to help others. Can you help me? I need to keep going. Truly, I find jogging boring. I've yet to get to that happy place I hear people talk about. But I want to get better at it.I'd love to raise £100 to support Suffolk Mind. It's a small local charity that has a big impact. And I don't know about you, but no more than ever keeping well emotionally has never been so important. If you can contribute a £1 that would be amazing. I'd only need 100 of you.We can do this. Follow my 100 miles journey over on Instagram or Strave, it may take some time. I predict at least 100 days xoxo
PS Wanna join me for a jog? If you're local you can actually jog next to me (socially distanced of course). If not, you could spend 40 minutes chatting to me and updating me on your life whilst I jog (trust me I won't be able to talk!)PPS Well you only completely blew my mind, and the £100 target out of the water! Thank you so much for your kind donations....so I'm going to raise my fundraising ambitions to £300 ;-)
